Gabriel Soprinye Halliday (born April 11 1988), known by his stage name Slim Burna, is a Nigerian recording artist and record producer from Bonny, Rivers State in South Nigeria. He was born in Essex, and was raised in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. In 2009, Slim Burna made his first impact as a musician when he released a cover version of "Oyoyo" by J Martins, which was well-received by DJs and music aficionados. The song was featured in various mix albums put together by the Nigerian DJs Coalition. His debut project, a mixtape titled I'm on Fire was released on his 25th birthday in April 2013, and turned out to be a huge success for his career. The mixtape received positive reception from music critics, and reached the number three position on the Music of Africa Top 10 mixtapes, also garnering thousands of downloads on a variety of music websites.
